So we got a Sony 52″ LCD TV brand new in box and it worked great for about a week before we started having HDMI sound issues. After looking online it seems that this is a known issue with the TV but what is really puzzling is that Sony has the capability to release a new software update to resolve this and yet they won’t… It’s not one of their new models and as such it’s been relegated to the past. Sony’s official stance on this issue is not to use the HDMI inputs and to stick to component IN… This would be fine and dandy if it didn’t have 4 HDMI ports and only 2 COMPONENT inputs. Needless to say I’m not very happy about this.
