I want to buy a Plasma TV in the New Year, and I am under the impression that Pioneer, Panosonic and Samsung are the best manufacturers? (in that order) Or am I missing something???

Pioneer will be no longer producing TVs after March 2010. See link below for the article. Your #1 selling plasma with the best (lowest) repair rating is Panasonic. Panasonic also has some features they have developed that the other companies don’t have such as their new Neo PDP panel released in the S1, G10, G15, V10 & Z1 series.
This panel is even less light reflective than their regular panels and produces a brighter, stronger image. So much so that it is able to handle bright ambient light which in the past was an issue for many plasma units.

Yes, you got it right. LG and Sanyo are all right also, but anything other than those I wouldn’t touch!
Panasonic and Samsung are good quality brand for plasma
My three year old Samsung plasma just died. Very upset because Samsung is aware of the problem and refuse to fix it. NEVER, EVER will I buy another one of their products.
